Hi, I'm Patrick!

At the heart of my design philosophy is the belief that design is a powerful form of communication that extends beyond the screen. At a macro level, it can be used to influence and shape culture, while on a micro scale it is instrumental in influencing how we interact and perceive the world around us.

I've chosen to focus on the specific touchpoints of web and mobile apps. Every pixel, every interaction conveys a message, and it is my responsibility as a designer to ensure that these messages are clear, intentional, and impactful.

My background in graphic design has equipped me with the skills to create visually compelling designs, but my transition into UX/UI has taught me to prioritize clarity, usability, and user engagement above all.

1. Continuous Learner
   I love to learn! I read a lot of articles and books. I enjoy participating in online courses and staying up-to-date with current trends. I just recently finished a Product Design certification. Check out what I'm currently reading.
2. Ridiculous Researcher
   I research everything and explore all of the available options. My friends and family often ask me about my opinions on products, because they know I’ve most likely done extensive research and thoroughly examined all of the options.
3. Experienced Pixel Pusher
   I've been a graphic designer and web developer for the past 13+ years. It's given me the opportunity to hone my visual design skills and create exceptional work, including: brand identities, websites, wayfinding signage, corporate collateral, marketing and capital campaigns, and much more.
4. Empowering Equipper 
   Equipping and teaching others brings me joy. I'm always open to chat about a project or share creative feedback.
5. Devoutly Dependable
   I’m consistent in my attitude and quality of work. I’ve been described by my co-workers as steady, wise, and logical. With me, you know what you’re going to get. It’s very important to me that my words hold weight. I’m laid back and don’t easily get shaken. I try to remain stress-free.
6. Aficionado of Excellence
   I strive for excellence in everything I do. I'm not ok with mediocrity. Even though I strive for perfection, I prioritize shipping products quickly to facilitate iteration, allowing for continuous refinement and improvement, which leads to greater impact and long-term success.

I'm not just a designer, I'm also a husband and girl dad. When the laptop closes, I find joy and rest in hanging out with my amazing family.

On the weekends you'll find me outside. I'll be doing yard work or other home projects. I'm not afraid of a little sweat equity.

What's my next project? I'm going to build a couple of raised garden beds so that we can enjoy growing organic produce. Our little girl loves broccoli!
